Third webinar in the “Let’s Talk Science” series: Green Hydrogen Transport

September 20, 2026by Ivan

IRC NANO continues its “Let’s Talk Science” series of scientific webinars, which aims to promote current research, encourage the exchange of experience, and strengthen professional communication among scientists, early-career researchers, and anyone interested in today’s key areas of science and technology.

The third webinar in the series will take place on 1 October 2026 at 15:00 (Kyiv time).

Oleksii Milenin, Leading Researcher at the E. O. Paton Electric Welding Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and Deputy Director of Kyiv Academic University, will present a talk titled “Transporting Green Hydrogen via the Gas Transmission System: From Scientific Problems to Engineering Challenges.”

Hydrogen is widely regarded as one of the key energy carriers of the future, and the possibility of using existing gas transmission infrastructure to transport it opens up significant opportunities for the energy transition. At the same time, it raises a number of complex questions for scientists and engineers, including how pipeline materials behave in a hydrogen environment, the reliability of welded joints, and the safe operation of such systems. The speaker will discuss how these problems are being studied today and which engineering solutions could bring hydrogen technologies closer to practical implementation.

We invite scientists, PhD students, students, and everyone interested to join the event and participate in the discussion of current trends in nanotechnology development.
